Male members, how do you take care of your appearance? I recently went to the dentist for a routine checkup and cleaning. It cost just under 3,000 yen, and my teeth came out sparkling clean. Highly recommended!

I’m on the night shift, but it’s been quiet, so I’ve come back through the older posts. It’s just after sunset, so I should be fine, right? (Sorry, I’ve apparently turned into a demon from *Demon Slayer*.) I’m glad to hear you’ve discovered the importance of looking after your teeth. I only started taking proper care of mine over the past few years, actually. I’d always been self-conscious about them and had no idea what to do, but a few years ago I met someone who taught me everything from brushing to using interdental brushes and floss, and I’ve kept it up ever since. By the way, I don’t use toothpaste. Regular professional cleanings are essential. Things like wine can leave stains on your teeth that brushing alone won’t remove. If you’ve discovered the joy of keeping your teeth clean, that’s wonderful, so by all means keep it up. From a “proper conduct” standpoint, I suppose I should say that all men ought to take that kind of care, but I didn’t myself—and I still managed to experience a blazing romance (lol)—so honestly, I don’t think it’s an absolute requirement. Still, there’s no doubt it’s better to do it, so if you’ve realized that, start taking care of them. Though women who are into things like rimming during sex probably aren’t going to worry about a little plaque. Oh, right—you were someone who wanted to keep his illusions about women, weren’t you? (lol) Men should take care with their grooming, especially for a first meeting. But looking well-groomed doesn’t mean everything else is automatically okay. I think your character and the relationship itself matter more. Grooming is important, but don’t get your priorities mixed up. Once, while we were waiting for the elevator after leaving a love hotel room, she said, “Oh, you’ve got bedhead.” She fixed it up for me and then giggled, saying, “It’s still sticking up a tiny bit, but it’s just about okay.” If I’d wanted my appearance to be perfect, I could have gone straight back into the room to fix it properly—but nobody normally does that, right? So I decided it was fine since she’d fixed it for me. We talked about past bedhead incidents in the elevator, laughed our heads off, returned the key, and left the hotel. Grooming is important. But don’t forget that there are things even more important than that. Right? Taro

There’s nothing special to recommend—it’s the absolute basics. But the basics are important in everything, so keep at it and continue improving. Marika

I’m Zuiki, a male member whose female companion has pointed out his nose hairs lol. Regular checkups at the dentist are a must, right? It makes you happy when they compliment you on how well you brush your teeth. When it comes to grooming, my goal is, quite simply, to be completely odorless lol. To achieve that, I try to keep both my mind and body as healthy as possible: watching my diet, exercising moderately, and unwinding at my beloved sauna. I love saunas, so when I get too carried away during intimate moments, I inevitably end up sweating a lot. Even then, I aim for the kind of light, clean sweat that comes with being healthy. Health comes first! No matter how clean the dentist gets your mouth, if your stomach is rotten, you’re still going to smell! Although, in my case, I should probably look in the mirror and check my nose hairs first—that’s just my personal opinion.

Occasionally getting your teeth cleaned won’t prevent bad breath. Trying too hard to look younger can be off-putting, too. It’s important to groom yourself appropriately for your age, isn’t it?

I hug my wife in the morning, partly to check for body odor and bad breath. I’m grateful when she points anything out. I’ve been doing this for decades, so she doesn’t suspect anything. Lately, I’m often extremely close to my daughter as well, so I use those moments to check my scent too—she’s very sensitive to smells. From a woman’s perspective, even boys in elementary or middle school can apparently smell quite strongly like men. Regular checkups alone probably aren’t enough, so I recommend visiting a dental clinic specializing in bad breath and keeping up the care every day. At first, I continued this mainly because I wanted to meet younger women. But little by little, I realized I was also doing it for myself and for the future. It also feels good when my dentist compliments me during regular checkups. I strongly recommend visiting a bad-breath clinic once you’re over 40. Just as it feels good when a woman responds, enjoys herself, trembles, or reaches climax, it’s also very important to maintain a mind and body that can respond to women and feel pleasure yourself. Nothing should be completely flat or routine—it won’t leave an impression on your partner, and it won’t heighten your own excitement either.

For your teeth, in addition to that, flossing every day, using a tongue scraper, and an interdental brush might help. For your body, maybe a deodorant spray.

I rely on a dentist, the gym, hair removal, and cosmetic dermatology. The dentist topic has been asked to death in anonymous Q&A boxes. Make small talk with your friends or romantic partner. Wait—do you not have any friends or a partner?
