Maezawa has started going on about allowance amounts again.

That’s a pretty rigid way of thinking. It’s a gray area. Explicitly stating the allowance would cause problems, so it has to be kept vague. But without any general guideline, first-timers—and people who don’t research beforehand online—won’t know what’s reasonable. Someone has to tell them verbally, roughly how much to expect. That applies to both female and male members. Naturally, the club has to appeal to women. We male members would be in trouble if women didn’t keep joining in good numbers. They need to be given some hope, too. Since you don’t seem to agree with the club’s way of thinking or policies, why not leave Universe and try your luck independently through Twitter or papa-katsu apps? You could even target the women soliciting at Shinjuku’s Toyoko area, which has been a hot topic, and pursue arrangements with the allowance you want. There’s no point complaining about a field that operates differently. I think you should simply go to the field that suits you. I hope you can find someone willing to have an adult relationship (intimate) with you for the allowance you want. It may be difficult to make that happen here, though.

Can’t you ask a straightforward question? If you include someone’s name, it can be hidden as a personal attack… > “At the time of joining, male members were told that it would be somewhere between 30,000 and 50,000 yen.” Then first, tell us who gave you that explanation and which staff member it was. At Universe, there’s an internal rule that staff must not discuss allowances with men. They’re supposed to be instructed not to answer even when asked. So if the questioner really heard this from a staff member, that’s a problem. I think that staff member should face some form of disciplinary action. > “The club was also the one that suddenly started saying it wouldn’t get involved in allowances.” They were saying they wouldn’t get involved in allowances at least six years ago. Are you saying you joined before that? If so, allowances used to be predetermined for each woman, so I don’t understand what you’re trying to say now. If your opinion is that allowances should be predetermined, then just say so. > “Are you raising the allowances to appeal to female members?” I don’t understand why that would make female members like the club more. Are you perhaps underestimating women? Following that logic, writing down lower allowances should make the club more appealing to men. Are you picking a fight simply because that’s the level of thinking you have? Please think things through a little more before posting a question.

What exactly is Maezawa-san saying he’ll do to appeal to women? Are you worried because the amount you’re offering is too low?

Since this isn’t a dating club that lists allowances, what they told you when you joined was probably just that staff member’s personal opinion, not the club’s official stance. I think the same goes for Maezawa’s comment—it was simply his personal opinion. It’s only natural that everyone has different personal views.
