There are a few, though not many. I’m based in Nagoya, but I’ve also met a woman from Yamanashi in Shizuoka. At the time, I gave her the actual transportation cost for the Wide View train. By the way, women from Yamanashi tend to prefer meeting in Tokyo, since the risk of being recognized is higher in their hometown. I’ve also made offers to about three other women from Shizuoka. I’m not sure where in Yamanashi you mean, but if we use Shinjuku to Kofu as an example, you can get there in 1 hour and 39 minutes without changing trains by taking the JR Limited Express Kaiji. The fare is ¥3,890 one way, so considering that the woman Mac found listed ¥8,000, that’s almost just the actual travel cost—unless she’s coming from somewhere other than Shinjuku in Tokyo, in which case it might not cover everything. If you’re able to cover the round-trip transportation, including the limited express fare, it might be a good idea to look for a woman registered in Tokyo whom you like and have the date in Kofu instead. (However, there probably aren’t many trains, so you’d need to wrap things up early or she might not be able to get home.) Also, if you’re dating somewhere in Yamanashi, a car is probably essential. In Tokyo, though, first dates by car are practically prohibited, so women may feel frightened about getting into a car on their first date. (If you took her into the mountains and told her you’d leave her there if she didn’t do what you said, she wouldn’t be able to get home. Of course, doing something like that could also lead to your arrest afterward.) For that reason, you could either hire a taxi for the first date, or go to Tokyo yourself beforehand, date several different people, and build up plenty of good reviews. First, you want the Universe staff to think, “This man is trustworthy.” Then, when arranging a date in Kofu, you could ask, “Would it be okay if we went by car?” The staff would then be more likely to think you’re safe and pass that impression on to the woman. Even if she asked, “Is this man okay?” they could reassure her by saying something like, “He has lots of good reviews, so he probably won’t do anything unpleasant even if you ride in his car on the first date.” Taking the differences between rural areas and Tokyo into account, I think it would be better for you to go to Tokyo and date there first.

In regional areas, the number of members is limited. You’ll have a better selection if you invite girls from the city. Some girls won’t accept long-distance travel, but there are still more options than locally. On top of the usual allowance, cover their actual travel expenses and add around ¥10,000 for every two hours of travel time, and you’ll find girls who are willing to agree.

I live in a rural area too, and since you’re more likely to run into neighbors there, I’d suggest looking in another prefecture—or for women who come from another prefecture. If you expand your search to neighboring prefectures, you’ll have more options and it’ll be easier to find someone you really like. You could have her come visit on your days off, or travel to see her during your time off. That would give you something to look forward to and make the relationship through the dating club work out nicely.

To be realistic—based on the posts I’ve seen in this Q&A forum over the past four months— If you cover transportation costs and offer a generous allowance, I think you should be able to find someone willing to date you, even if you live far away. (Though whether you click is a separate matter.) These days, unless you live somewhere extremely rural, most places seem accessible by train or bus. Parking may be inconvenient, but it may still be possible to drive there. So I don’t think you need to worry. If there’s anything you’re unsure about, you could ask the staff during your interview. If you do decide to join, I hope you have a wonderful encounter. That’s just my personal opinion.

I recommend asking about the exact number while having an interview at your nearest branch. Also, you may be surprised by how many women are willing to travel from fairly distant locations.
