Isn’t it enough that you feel it suits you and that you like it?
Trying to meet other people’s standards will only stress you out.
If they cut you off over that, then you simply weren’t compatible. That’s all.

I once heard a man say he was surprised when a woman showed up for their meeting wearing jeans (though “denim” may be the more common term now?) and sneakers.
So, your impression can change depending on what someone is wearing. Come to think of it, I’ve also heard of men who insisted that women always wear miniskirts.
At the end of the day, clothes do affect the impression you make. I think looking reasonably stylish without overdoing it is probably best.

Wouldn’t it be safest to dress in a way that matches how he usually dresses?
Something casual won’t lower his opinion of you.
That said, I once met a guy who showed up in what looked like an everyday hoodie, and I was like, “Hmm…” lol

It doesn’t change.
I’ve even worn a tracksuit on a golf practice date, and I thought that looked good too.

The club says casual attire is fine.
Even outside the club, I’ve always met her in everyday clothes—the kind of outfit a woman might wear to work.
To begin with, I don’t like dressing up too much, and I’ve probably never done things like going out as an escort (though maybe it’s fun, like at the club??).
Depending on where we’re going, I’d actually prefer a relaxed outfit casual enough that we might be mistaken for parent and child.

As long as it’s not obviously inappropriate for the occasion, I don’t really care what she wears.
Working women can still look presentable in casual clothes. The only times someone’s appearance really put me off were with a few students.

After meeting a few times, I don’t think something like that would bother me, and it probably wouldn’t change my opinion of her.
However, if she suddenly showed up in an outfit completely different from the impression she’d given me—or dressed so badly that even I, as a man, thought it was unfashionable—I’d reconsider whether to continue seeing her.

When it comes to women I’ve met several times, the way they dress doesn’t change my opinion of them.
Even if I tell them, “Casual is fine!” they often still show up in a dress or something similar.
Once in a while, someone has asked, “I might be running late after work—is it okay if I come in a suit?”
If she looks good, I’ll give her a little compliment and say, “You look great in that suit too!” (lol)
I was always good at buttering people up back when I was working, so I still do it from time to time… (lol)
