While the degree varies, I feel that most women approach these relationships as transactional.
I believe I’m also seeing someone on that basis, but from what I’ve heard from women, I’d say my situation is relatively decent.
It should be obvious if you simply look around you that there aren’t many women who genuinely prefer older men—let alone men more than 20 years their senior.

I’m not really comfortable with someone staring at me, so I can actually concentrate better when they keep their eyes closed（笑）
Some women may be treating it as purely transactional, while others may genuinely like the asker as a person because they’re attracted to his personality. That probably happens too.
But it’s safest to assume that more women are simply in it for the money.

I understand why you might be suspicious of a woman keeping her eyes closed.
That said, I once dated a woman who always made eye contact with me. During intimacy, whenever I happened to look at her, she would suddenly turn her face toward me and make eye contact without fail.
If I looked away, she would close her eyes or turn to the side. But whenever I looked at her, she would immediately turn toward me and meet my eyes.
That was honestly a little scary in its own way.

This probably won’t be helpful, but in my case, I’m so focused on how good it feels that I don’t even have the energy to open my eyes. I don’t have time to think, either.
Also, my eyes sometimes roll back, so I’d rather keep them closed—I don’t want papa to realize that I’m basically a fish.

That’s not true at all! At least in my case, I genuinely like my papa (a male supporter) and enjoy being with him.
I close my eyes unconsciously. It’s not that I don’t want to look at him—I close them when I’m enjoying intimate relations in the missionary position. I’m just concentrating, lol.
On the other hand, when I’m on top, I stare intently at my papa’s face as he enjoys himself. It makes me feel even more fond of him.

Isn’t some degree of compartmentalization inevitable in any relationship?
Are you really seeing people without drawing any boundaries or making any compromises? Since this is an allowance-based relationship, I think it’s best to assume that the other person has already made a certain distinction in their mind.
I have no way of knowing what your partner is thinking when she closes her eyes. For what it’s worth, I sometimes close my eyes during sex too.
