If you went out for dinner once, exchanged contact information, and then got blocked on LINE right away, would you hold a grudge? Would you think about getting back at them somehow?

You were blocked after your very first offer, right? Honestly, I’d probably block you too if the first meeting were at somewhere like Tully’s Coffee or Saint Marc Café. New male members are told by the staff what kinds of places are appropriate for meeting, right? Please follow their advice. It’s far too inconsiderate, and things won’t last otherwise.

Generally speaking, I don’t think most people are like that, but there are some strange ones out there, so it’s best to be careful. I once met a woman normally, but she wasn’t my type. I told her I’d only slipped away briefly because work was busy, gave her transportation money for just having tea, exchanged contact information, thanked her politely, and said goodbye. A few hours later, she sent me a flood of resentful LINE messages. There are all kinds of people in the world, so I think you should always be prepared for the worst. I don’t recommend blocking them. It’s an unmistakable sign of rejection, and there are ways for the other person to find out they’ve been blocked, so they’ll know. When a strange person realizes their messages are getting through, they may start sending all sorts of things, so leaving their messages unread lets you monitor the situation and can also provide evidence if trouble arises later. If you block them, though, you won’t know whether they’ve entered attack mode in the first place. I think that’s extremely dangerous. You’ll be fine if you can completely disappear from their radar—but can you really do that thoroughly? Do you make the first call with your number hidden? You haven’t said anything in conversation that could give away clues, have you? For example, simply saying, “There’s a certain shop near my house that always has a long line,” can be enough to narrow down where you live. Once they know your nearest station, they could stake it out for a whole day and find you. You may think no one would go to that much trouble, but dangerous people do. It may be hard to understand if you’ve never experienced the fear of being hunted, but you should give it serious thought. Compared with apps, I think dating clubs are safer, and among dating clubs, Universe is probably one of the safest. But zero risk is impossible. You should be properly prepared. Rather than covering your eyes and ears and pretending unpleasant things don’t exist, stay alert, observe the other person, and keep watching until they lose interest in you. Conversely, if someone you cut ties with blocks you, that’s the moment you can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Maybe I’m being a little paranoid. Still, the odds are low, so I don’t think there’s anything wrong with leaving it to fate and living carefree. Lots of people in this world do exactly that. I’m simply the type who wants to control every risk I can, so that’s what I do. Hope this helps. Taro

There’s really no way to get back at him, so I wouldn’t do anything. I would, however, give the club feedback so that other papas from the club don’t go through the same thing. I’d be frustrated about wasting the offer fee, but ultimately I’d just let it go.

If you just go out for dinner once, exchange contact information, and then immediately block them on LINE, I think you should be fine. The motivation to get revenge comes from a “built-up attachment”—from liking the person or having expectations—but that level of attachment usually won’t develop after only one dinner.

I wouldn’t really resent him or anything—I’d just think, “Huh? What happened?” lol As for getting revenge, that wouldn’t even cross my mind. I’d reflect on how lax I was in choosing him.

I don’t think so. I’m the type who waits for women to contact me, so I probably wouldn’t even notice if I’d been blocked.

You may wonder what went wrong, but… I wouldn’t hold a grudge, let alone try to get revenge. Though, to be fair, nothing like that has ever happened to me.
