Why do male members stay registered with dating clubs and continue using them for years? Are they really that unpopular?

Female member Potassium here. Reading this, I couldn’t help thinking: isn’t this just a boomerang? The idea that “male members are in the club because they’re unpopular” could, in reverse, imply that female members are there because: - They aren’t even popular with money (they don’t have the ability to earn enough to satisfy themselves) - They aren’t popular with successful, attractive men who have money If that’s the case, wouldn’t it mean they’re only popular with men who aren’t popular themselves...? That’s honestly a little too sad, isn’t it? So maybe male members aren’t necessarily unpopular, and neither the person asking the question nor the female members are only desired by unpopular men. Maybe everyone is in the club because they enjoy it? Anyway, that’s just my own opinion after thinking, “Wow, scary, scary.”

The reason I stay registered is that these relationships eventually come to an end. Women are generally younger, so they go through more life events—graduation, changing jobs, marriage, and so on. Whenever one relationship ends, I look for someone new, which is why I’ve stayed registered all this time. There aren’t that many wealthy men, so I hope people understand that the longer we stay registered and the more offers we make, the more chances women have to accept an offer—and that it helps keep the economy moving. Whether someone is popular or not depends on the individual.

I’m not trying to brag, but I’m not popular with women. That’s why I’m here. And unfortunately, even though I pay, things haven’t been going very well. So why am I still here? Because once you start dating women regularly, it somehow leads to meeting people outside the club as well. That’s just how it is.

I think meeting new people can be enjoyable. So I don’t find it strange to remain a member for that reason. Why are you asking this here?

What’s the deal with these recurring questions bashing older men who do papa-katsu? If an older man isn’t attractive to women, even money won’t lead to an adult relationship. That doesn’t mean I’m saying I’m popular with women, as you can tell. I’m saying I’m neither especially popular nor unpopular—just an ordinary, average older guy. Besides, I’m involved because it allows me to meet women I’d never be able to meet otherwise, outside a dating club. I don’t think you should lump it together with the random dating apps and sites out there.

I’m not exactly handsome, but to be blunt, I’m fairly popular even outside the club(笑). So when it comes to using the club, whether I’m popular or not is irrelevant to me. However, judging from what the women I’ve dated tell me and the questions posted in the Q&A, I do think it’s true that a fair number of men who aren’t popular—and have no luck outside the club—are registered there. On top of that, new women are constantly joining, so I wonder how some men manage to stay with the club for years. I’ve just entered my second year with the club myself, but honestly, I still don’t know how long I’ll remain registered.

Because I find a company called Universe Club interesting. The market itself probably existed for a long time, but they made it much bigger and increased its value in many ways. Even though many of their employees are young, it’s basically a regular company now. I’m curious to see what happens with it in the future. Plus, I’d be sad to lose touch with the representative and the employees, and I enjoy interacting with the other male members. It’s not easy to find people you can be completely open with about dirty jokes, either. That’s why I keep using it.

To be perfectly honest, I’m not popular with women. I haven’t made any offers lately, so I sometimes wonder if there are quite a few other men like me. By the way, I’m not some plant from another service. At first, I figured it would be like women having multiple papas, so I’d be fine with being turned down at any time. But instead of the relationship ending, it feels like it’s just going to drag on indefinitely. I’ve considered re-registering as a member, but I really don’t like the interview with the interviewer either. It feels like they can see right through me… and on top of that, my eyes are locked onto the interviewer’s chest the whole time… (laughs) Honestly, it’s easier just to pay the annual membership fee. (laughs)

I think it’s because the people they meet change from time to time. I don’t really understand why people bring the idea of being popular—or not popular—into dating clubs. I think that’s separate from compensated dating and allowance-based relationships.

In places that facilitate meetings between men and women, a structure naturally develops where the people paying large sums become regulars and remain members for longer, while the other side is expected to keep bringing in new faces. This applies not only to men. In services where women pay high membership fees to be introduced to doctors and high-income men, the women tend to become regular members, with more and more of the same faces appearing, while men are invited free of charge to enjoy themselves casually. If they introduce their male friends one after another for free, they’re welcomed by both the organizers and the participating women. Also, since men naturally tend to reach their peak popularity in their 30s and 40s, they gradually lose that appeal afterward, which may make them feel less need to leave the club. Looking at new memberships as well, roughly eight times as many women join as men. So, unless men remain members at least eight times longer than women, the club simply can’t survive.
