Why not attend an interview with Universe Club and give papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) a try? I imagine that, from the questioner’s perspective, people who do papa-katsu may seem like an unusual crowd. But since you’ve never tried it and still came all the way to an anonymous Q&A site to ask about it, I doubt you’re completely uninterested. People don’t change that easily without some major event, so I think an introduction club can provide an opportunity for that to happen, depending on whom you meet. You may even get the chance to meet people from a completely different world. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing depends on how each person chooses to see it.
