The pain is probably not because of the condom. It’s more likely that he’s trying to force it in when you’re not lubricated enough, or that he isn’t waiting until you’re fully relaxed.
Either way, it’s not really about size—the issue comes before the condom.

② Keep it inserted only for as long as the woman needs
If you do that, it probably won’t hurt.
Some women find anything other than ① or ② completely unbearable and painful.
And don’t forget that women are extremely delicate—not just internally; even small things can either hurt or feel perfectly fine depending on the situation.
Men are sensitive and delicate too, but women can be even more so. Just like a man might think, “That’s not how I want to be touched—it hurts,” or “That’s too rough; please go a little slower and gentler.”

There are YouTube videos where people try out various condoms, so you might find them helpful.
If you’re sufficiently aroused, it shouldn’t hurt. Since you’re experiencing pain, possible solutions would be improving your technique for getting wet or using lubricant.
Apparently, SKYN condoms are soft and popular with women. They’re a little thicker, though, so the man may feel slightly less pleasure.

Sorry for answering as a man, but normally none of those should cause pain.
If she does feel pain, I’d say it’s probably because she has very little experience, suffers from painful intercourse, isn’t sufficiently aroused, you have delayed ejaculation, or you’re simply terrible at it.
