Exactly as you say, Early. Why is it that, for some reason, people in this world start chasing women once they have money? It’s a mystery.

Compared with the average, I’m sure the person asking the question earns more than both groups (or so I’ve heard). There’s no end to comparing yourself with people above you, but if you look at the combined total of income and assets, both groups include listed-company CEOs, so I imagine they’re far wealthier than you (or so I’ve heard). I know a fair number of people in both groups. Some are excellent players, while others are outstanding business owners. They both have a decent amount of fun, too—some do papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), and some have mistresses. (Though that may just be true of the people I associate with.) Even though doctors, lawyers, and accountants vary widely, I think their income floor is still higher than that of ordinary salaried employees and business owners, including the self-employed. That’s why, as you can see if you look it up online, their average annual incomes are also relatively high.

It can also take on a life of its own, which isn’t ideal. Besides, unlike doctors, lawyers and accountants vary widely in ability, so their incomes really run the gamut. Also, successful lawyers and accountants should be far too busy for papa-katsu. So if you’re choosing between a doctor papa and a lawyer papa, I’d give the edge to the doctor papa.
