Hello. Over the past month or two, I’ve had three last-minute cancellations within a day or two of the scheduled meeting. The reasons varied. I have a request for the club: could this kind of information be updated on the women’s profiles in a more timely manner?

This content is machine-translated.
By the way, the two women mentioned above still have ratings of four to five stars. Also, if there’s any way to predict this kind of behavior, I’d appreciate your advice. Thank you.

To put it bluntly, if you’re getting that many last-minute cancellations, you may want to consider that there could be an issue on your end. It’s understandably difficult to keep things updated in real time. Instead, I recommend contacting the staff directly and asking them when you make an offer.

Teramoto from Universe Club Customer Success 1 here as well. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. As mentioned in some of our other responses, cancellations are simply very common at this time of year. This isn’t limited to female members—we’ve also been seeing more cancellations from male members. I’ve actually been feeling a little under the weather myself lately, but honestly, it feels difficult to say, “I’m not feeling well.” I found myself worrying that people might think, “Are you really sick?” It wouldn’t surprise me if a term like “corona harassment” emerged before long. As for ratings of female members, we also measure them carefully through criteria separate from the number of stars. If someone cancels on the day, their rating is indeed reduced accordingly, so please rest assured.

Last-minute cancellations and lateness—I dislike both, so all I can say is that I hate them lol. Of course, I try not to do either myself. There are times when work makes it unavoidable, but I’d feel genuinely sorry, so I’d do everything I could to make it up through both my words and actions. Some women have a similar attitude, so we’re able to continue seeing each other without cancellations, lateness, or rescheduling. Those things simply don’t become an issue between us. Of course, there are also women who see things differently. I’ve had someone do that even after the initial offer, early on when we first started seeing each other lol. It naturally becomes less enjoyable, and we gradually drift apart, I guess lol. I don’t see people I know won’t be a lasting match anymore, so there’s no point dwelling on it, and I can stay pretty tolerant. Disliking last-minute cancellations and lateness is just my personal preference. I don’t intend to impose it on anyone, and I don’t get angry at people who see things differently. But allowing it feels somehow wrong lol. I guess it’s simply that I don’t want to continue seeing someone by lying to myself lol.

I’m Himawari, and last month I had to cancel at the last minute for the first time ever… As expected, I ended up catching the seventh wave and got really sick while visiting my family back home… Couldn’t you ask what the reason was when she canceled? Even if I said it was COVID, these days people might suspect, “Is that really true?” so I’ve become hesitant to say it. In summer, there may genuinely be cases where someone has no choice but to cancel at the last minute.

Given the current situation, I think many people would rather play it safe if they feel even slightly unwell. Also, many of the gentlemen have fairly demanding jobs, so some women may feel they shouldn’t cause them any inconvenience. So perhaps it’s best to decide based on the reason for canceling. As for my own perspective… Since this is SALON, things may be a little different from Universe Club, but I’m not a particularly popular woman with lots of arrangements, so I really value each one and am always grateful for them. That’s why I can’t even imagine canceling—let alone on the day of the meeting. Perhaps the women you’re being offered are very popular and don’t particularly want more offers, or they already have a good papa (a male supporter) and aren’t actively looking for other papas. So why not try making offers to women who don’t receive many?

Whether it was the initial setting or a date after you’d met, it’s probably best to assume she simply didn’t enjoy meeting you. That’ll serve you well going forward. Even women generally won’t cancel in a way that looks like a last-minute cancellation before they’ve grown comfortable with someone. Once you’re close, though, women can be very different from men when it comes to their health, getting ready, and their mood. Don’t worry too much about last-minute cancellations or changes.

I’d prefer it if you addressed your request directly to the branch, but posting it here usually won’t get through to them. We’re still dealing with COVID, and the strain going around is said to be highly contagious. Because of that, things happen, such as someone becoming a close contact the day before or suddenly developing a high fever on the day and possibly having COVID. In the past, even if it was just a cold, people might have been forced to leave because there was no proof. But these days, during the COVID situation, it’s considered unavoidable. Also, if this is a woman rated four or five stars, she probably hasn’t canceled at the last minute before. So I assume something unexpected must have happened. I can understand wondering, “Why?” if it happens repeatedly, but overall, very few people keep doing it. Maybe you’ve simply had a run of bad luck lately.

Haha, people are saying all kinds of things, aren’t they? LOL Well, it was probably just a coincidence... You’ll be fine next time. Take your time, assess things carefully, and make your offers with confidence.

Last-minute cancellations and lateness These are common things women do—not just PJ girls—so I don’t let them bother me at all. *Of course, men canceling at the last minute or being late is completely unacceptable.* Not only in papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), but in any relationship with women, it’s always ladies first. You’re free to take an entitled attitude like, “I’m paying a setup fee,” or “I’m giving her an allowance,” but doesn’t that get exhausting? If you simply assume that women are going to cancel at the last minute sometimes, you won’t get irritated, and you can say goodbye to unnecessary stress. I highly recommend it.

You may want to reconsider the type of people you’re making offers to. Personally, I’ve had zero same-day cancellations and only one cancellation the day before—about 1%, and that person had been in a traffic accident. If you’ve made around 100 offers over the past month or two, then I apologize for saying that. Maybe people are more likely to cancel at the last minute when it’s a letter date. Alternatively, COVID-19 cases have been surging since July, so that could be the reason. Sorry for going off on a tangent, but please direct your requests to the local branch.
