The transportation allowance for the first meeting is set so that the woman won’t leave empty-handed after her first date.
You could say it’s similar to the guarantee in the adult entertainment industry when there are no customers.
I think papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) only really shows its benefits when it develops into a longer-term arrangement through second and third meetings.
You may get invited to paid drinking parties multiple times, but basically, those are one-off relationships, right?
I’ve also heard that some apps don’t even pay ¥5,000, or that no money is offered for a first meeting.
Instead of trying to act superior, why don’t you do your best with paid drinking parties or apps?

I use all of them, but it’s not as though apps pay more—if anything, I’ve heard some even offer zero for the first meeting. With paid socializing, that amount would be reserved for someone especially attractive with fairly strong social skills.

I believe it’s about the same as at most dating clubs.
I don’t know why they chose that particular amount, but I assume they set it at roughly the same level as other dating clubs.

From what I found online, the minimum hourly rate for paid drinking gigs is around ¥3,000–¥5,000, with people who are confident in their looks able to earn more.
In the first place, I don’t think comparing prices with a service that has a completely different purpose is meaningful. If money is your only goal, wouldn’t you earn more working in the soapland or other adult entertainment industry?

I’m seeing a woman who gets a six-figure allowance from me even though we don’t meet once a month, because she has undeniable value to me.
So if you’re the kind of woman the questioner would happily pay ¥30,000 an hour to have dinner with, I’d give you 6 for two hours without hesitating for a second.

This isn’t really a place for people who are focused on “making money” through paid drinking dates.
I met two business owners who had registered on the app, and they had much the same impression as Kazu.
They said that some women go all out with their appearance, but are empty inside, can’t keep a conversation going, and leave you thinking, “What a waste of time.”
For those of us who have experience registering with an exclusive dating club, whether an arrangement continues ultimately depends on whether both people can spend meaningful time together, respect and trust each other, and gain something from the relationship.
So I think the unsuitable people get filtered out to some extent, and you’re more likely to have relatively good encounters.

As Seattle-san said, I think it’s because relationship clubs have no use for people who aren’t actually interested in dating.
¥10,000 is probably the standard because it’s neither absurdly low nor particularly high.
I can’t agree that apps pay more. I quit using them because I often ended up meeting boring women I would never have encountered at a relationship club, but I was able to meet women for just ¥10,000 in transportation costs.

Anyone who wants to keep paying only ¥10,000 for dinner-only dates forever is an unwelcome guest.
The whole concept behind the club is to build a relationship and eventually aim for something deeper. If you develop a lasting connection, the allowance could be four digits higher than ¥10,000.
Anyone looking to make money indefinitely from dinner-only dates should stick to apps or paid drinking dates.
