To reduce the risk of infection, I’d ideally like a long-term relationship with just one person. Do women who write “I’m looking for a relationship with one person” in their profile or comments generally avoid seeing multiple people and tend to leave the site as soon as they find someone they like?

There are women who genuinely only want to date one man. However, they’re very rare. They’re generally found among the A- and B-types. I’m actually someone who recommends seeing multiple partners. I’ve made offers to more than 30 women so far, and I think only two turned me down specifically for that reason. You should understand that trying to become the one-and-only for a woman like that is extremely difficult. If she finds a good man, she’ll leave the site right away—but I do sometimes see them come back. In other words, even if she finds a great, generous (well-paying) man, it can still be difficult to keep the arrangement going with just him. Instead, my recommendation for papa (male supporters) is to find a woman who wants to date several men to reduce her risk. If you keep seeing each other for a year or two, you’ll probably end up being the only one in practice.

To avoid the risks of being identified and contracting an infection, I’ve been seeing just one woman (we’ve been together for four years and are still seeing each other). I’ve practiced exclusive dating since I first joined the club, but, as everyone says, the women I date also look around to see if they can find a better papa, so I don’t think they’ll leave the club right away. I suppose the reality is that I met several women, was turned down by some and turned down others, and in the end, I was the only one left. Well, when you think about it, there’s an age gap of more than 40 years, so we obviously look strange together… But once we passed the three-year mark, something surprising happened. When I looked at our reflections and said, “We really do look strange together, don’t we?” she started replying, “Not at all! You two look absolutely perfect together.” At dating clubs, I don’t think exclusive relationships are especially common, but they do exist, as they occasionally come up in this Q&A forum. Also, during about the first year after starting a relationship, you may feel like making offers to other women, so it takes patience. Exclusive dating is nice too. We go on dates every other week, but we’ve grown much closer and have a stronger bond than when we first started seeing each other. The relationship will end when she decides to leave me. (Originally, we planned to end things at the end of this year, but then I asked to continue for another year. Recently, she’s been saying she wants to study for a certification exam, and so on, so it’s just kind of dragging on(笑).)

You won’t know whether what’s written in someone’s profile is true until you’ve met them a few times. For now, try making offers to around ten people at once. Even then, probably only about 5% will actually be a good match for you. Also, pressuring a woman to leave the service is against the rules. Did you listen carefully to what the staff told you?

Regardless of the comments—most people barely take them into account—some will leave as soon as they find someone they like. Some people, both men and women, want to date multiple partners, while others don’t. Many women probably prefer seeing just one person for peace of mind in various ways. In reality, though, many maintain multiple arrangements because they worry about being dropped once their partner gets bored, or because they haven’t yet met the right person. Whether the woman you’re seeing will make you her only papa depends on you. At the very least, it won’t be easy unless you can ease her fear of being dropped when you’re no longer interested and give her such a strong sense of security that she feels she no longer needs the “insurance” of seeing multiple people. Also, unless you’re convinced that, in your 40-plus years of life, she is unquestionably one of the best women you’ve ever met—not only in terms of looks but also sexual compatibility—it won’t be easy to limit yourself to just one (or even two) people.

I’m currently seeing one papa on a monthly arrangement. At first, I wasn’t set on seeing just one person—I was dating multiple papas. Like others have mentioned, there are risks involved if things end, as well as concerns about the allowance. But my papa treats me very well, and I found someone I can trust, among other reasons. So I didn’t write on my profile that I was only looking for one person or that I would leave the site right away. I think it’s harder for women who receive lots of offers to stick with just one person, so it might be worth approaching someone who hasn’t received any offers yet, or finding another way that works for you.

You sound like you might get caught up with a devilish genius like Aya. I can’t even imagine being in an exclusive one-on-one relationship. Breaking up is just too painful, whether you’re the one ending it or the one being dumped. Also, STIs can be passed back and forth through boyfriends or casual partners, too. I’ve had at least three women who only had me as their papa report testing positive for an STI, and it left me pale with shock. In every case, it was their boyfriend or casual partner who had it. That’s why I’m going on first dates with three new women over the next week. They’re all absolutely stunning, so I can’t wait.

When someone says they want to be with just one person, it’s best to understand it as meaning one of two things: - They’d prefer one partner if that person could provide around ¥1 million a month, or - They’d prefer one partner if they met an exceptionally wonderful, respectable, and fun man. Women tend to be more safety-conscious than men, so many do genuinely prefer being with just one person if possible. However, it’s rare for one man to fulfill all of a woman’s needs. So in reality, they’ll probably continue meeting other men, wondering whether someone even better might be out there. If you were incredibly handsome, had a great figure and an amazing personality, were practically flawless, could give her over ¥1 million every month, let her get whatever she wanted, and weren’t controlling, then she might choose to date only you. > Do they tend to leave the club as soon as they find someone good? If by “good” you mean not just an ordinarily good person, but someone truly exceptional, then I think she probably would leave fairly quickly. I don’t think it’s a lie when she says she’d like to be with just one person. Women who simply want to receive money from multiple men wouldn’t usually say or write something like that in the first place. That said, if saying this starts getting them better reactions from men, more women may begin saying it in the future. But for now, many people see dating clubs as places where you date multiple partners—including men—so they probably wouldn’t specifically say they want just one person.

I’m also voting for “that’s not really the case.” If both people agree not to see anyone else, then on top of the financial side, I think you also need a real sense of emotional security. By that, I mean you have to eliminate worries like: - If I lose this papa (a male supporter), my income will drop. - He might switch to another woman. - Maybe he’s lying and seeing multiple women. From a man’s perspective, too, I imagine he’d be pretty strict about whether a woman is worth all that effort. When you think about it that way, the bar is actually pretty high… That’s why I think it usually ends up being exclusive only on the surface. Since we’re both adults, maybe the most comfortable arrangement is to turn a blind eye, keep certain things discreet, and treat each other considerately so that both people can still be satisfied. That’s how I see it, but if there’s a papa who’s confident he can handle a completely exclusive arrangement perfectly, I’d love to receive an offer! (笑)

I’m a female member, Potassium. I don’t think women are that easygoing. If someone truly wanted to date only one person, they probably wouldn’t be doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) in the first place… (Though it would make sense if they were looking for a mistress-type arrangement.) Especially if they’re short on money, they’ll naturally prioritize value for money. If the goal is money, they’ll make a reasonable effort to search for the best terms! I think quite a few people write “I’m looking to date just one person” specifically because they believe it will help them find a generous (well-paying) papa (a male supporter)… (Generally speaking, I think it’s unusual to do papa-katsu in the first place, and accepting money from men without working for it is a little crafty by society’s standards… Most people wouldn’t think, “I’m broke! I’ll do papa-katsu!” …Though I’m superficially the same, so this is me throwing a boomerang right back at myself (っ'-')╮=͟͞ く カコーーン) Also, if someone likes that comment and makes an offer, it greatly reduces the risk of us women being suddenly dropped, so there are plenty of benefits. After all, it’s a profile we write however we want, and the way we date is a matter of free choice, so we’re not really accountable for every word. Rather than worrying about the phrase “I’m looking to date just one person,” I think it’s more reliable to build an arrangement where you alone can satisfy her—including the allowance. That’s just my personal opinion.

I don’t think that’s the case. Profiles and personal comments are usually nothing more than statements of enthusiasm made when joining. If anything, I find the phrase “I’m looking to date just one person” rather contrived. Whether she dates multiple people or eventually leaves the club will depend on how fulfilled she feels in her relationship with you, as well as her personal circumstances.
