What determines the display order when searching male members’ profiles?

I’m neither back-office staff nor a regular staff member, but I’m a female member named Potassium. I believe the order in which male profiles appear under “They look great” is determined by profile updates. For a month, I searched using the same criteria morning, noon, and night, checked the order across about eight pages, looked through the profiles, and tried to find a pattern. What I eventually arrived at was updates… And perhaps newly registered members or members whose profiles had just become public. I’d be embarrassed if I’m wrong… That’s just my personal theory, though.
