I didn’t realize there were several hurdles to becoming an answerer. I’m learning this rather late… Maybe one person asked for it, but I don’t think someone who gives themselves a weird name and is so convinced of their own ideas is wanted by many people.

She may be saying things about you behind your back. If you’ve become an answerer, please stop posting nonsensical answers. Things will just get heated again… Why not ask a question before becoming an answerer? By the way, answerers can ask questions too. Asking a question and then answering it yourself is prohibited.

It was funny when it was “TOP GUN or what? lol,” but “Top 1% Unofficial TOP GUN” is a bit disappointing. I get that you had to play off the original for it to work in context, but if you’ve got that kind of wit, I’m looking forward to seeing you shine as an answerer!

“Unofficial Top Gun of the Top 1%”—why not? I’m a “sneaky old geezer in the bottom 1%,” so I think it would add some character to have both the very best and the very worst among the respondents. It feels fitting for a universe with such a diverse range of male members（笑） I imagine this review will be pretty strict, but if I butter you up a little, like I do with the women I date, I’m sure I can somehow pass. If people are already asking you to become an answerer, you should be able to become one fairly soon. I believe the requirement used to be that male members had no complaints from women. That said, I apparently received one negative piece of feedback early in my time with the club—I heard it from a staff member. So as long as you’re able to continue using the service normally, I think you should be fine. Also, even after becoming an answerer, some people still ask questions.

I watched TOP GUN yesterday—the first one, that is. As a minimum requirement, I think your rating needs to be five stars. Also, paying a generous allowance is the absolute moral standard in papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan). I really hope you’ll become an answerer. Recently, about three women I’d offered to meet told me, without me even asking, “I felt comfortable meeting you because you had a five-star rating.” So apparently my rating is still five stars, despite people joking that I slap women across the face with bundles of cash. It took me about a month and a half to become an answerer. Mr. Maezawa put me through an extremely thorough background check. My reason for applying was that I wanted to raise the going rate for allowances paid to women, and I wrote that in my application. He apparently asked my assigned staff member all kinds of detailed questions about me and read through all the feedback from the women as well. I think Mr. Maezawa dislikes me. I can kind of tell, lol. However, even if he dislikes me, he understands the need for papas who pay generous allowances. So if Question Box determined from feedback from female members and so on that you’re a papa who pays well, I think you could become an answerer too. Not that I know for sure—I just wanted to imitate him. Having a decent amount of money but paying a low allowance is completely unacceptable in the context of papa-katsu. Buying expensive things for yourself is something even a monkey can do, and making major business investments is something even a dog can do. Money is important, isn’t it? No matter what the reason, I can’t respect a man who’s unable to spend that important money on women. Whether you’re wealthy or intelligent is completely irrelevant to papa-katsu. “How much can you give her?” That’s all that matters. Give her the money first, then say your piece. Being kind to women is a given, so anyone who says, “I’m a handsome older guy who’s kind to women, well-groomed, and great at conversation, so it’s fine if I pay a low allowance,” should leave immediately. If you don’t have money, then paying a low allowance is understandable. But if you do have money, you need to share it with her, or nothing you say carries any weight. “I’m wealthy, so I give her 100,000 yen pay-per-meeting, but honestly, I feel like 50,000 yen would be the appropriate amount.” That I can understand. Or: “I’m not that well-off, so even 50,000 yen pay-per-meeting feels expensive to me.” That’s fine too. But when someone says, “I pay 50,000 yen pay-per-meeting, but I own a Ferrari, a Porsche, and a McLaren. Oh, and a yacht too,” I’m too stupid and lacking in vocabulary to come up with a suitable word other than “cheap.” The other day, a woman contacted me for the first time in a while, and we ended up having quite a long conversation. She’s a popular woman who received more than 30 offers after registering. She casually remarked, “Universe is full of poor guys. Everyone tells me they’ll pay 50,000 yen pay-per-meeting.” She’s also one of the girls who passed the salon screening. Also, long answers are good for SEO, so it’s totally fine for this to be lengthy. The company president and Mr. Maezawa will be secretly pleased. I meant that I was concerned the impression conveyed by your question might be causing the woman distress or making things difficult for her. You may be a wonderful person in reality, but based on what I saw in the question box, I’m concerned. Of course, it’s not my place to judge, so if this is what you want and it’s the club’s decision, I have no objection whatsoever.

I honestly have no idea what phrases like “the top 1%,” “unofficial TOP GUN,” or “a lucrative position” mean, so if you answer, please explain them clearly enough that readers can understand. I also don’t think overly long, rambling answers are helpful. Even Maezawa’s answer is too long. Marika

I vaguely recall hearing that, unlike before, some people were managing to become one by sheer force of will—but I’m not entirely sure. Even if you’re told you can’t, please don’t complain to the staff and pressure them into making it happen. In that sense, I’d be concerned that people calling themselves “Top Gun” might become too full of themselves.

Apparently, you used to be accepted as long as you hadn’t received any negative ratings from women. I wonder how things are now. The standards may have gotten stricter. Maybe there’s some kind of trial you have to pass, like, “Go on a date with this woman and successfully win her over.” If becoming an approved respondent meant stylishly clearing absurd challenges like on SASUKE, that would be pretty entertaining. To “the Kobe member of the unofficial TOP GUN elite 1%”: Sorry, I’ve only seen this question, so I’m not entirely sure what’s going on. But one of the same character is more than enough for me, so it would help those of us sitting on the same panel if you could tweak your character just a little. First, take a breath and stay calm. Becoming an answerer isn’t the hard part—the real challenge is responding to the stream of questions that comes afterward.

Even if you’re a respondent, you can post a question by identifying yourself as the person in question. I’m not a male member, so I don’t know what kind of screening is required to become a respondent. Why not contact them and ask? If you do become a respondent, please call yourself “Top 1% Man.”

Posting questions and answering your own questions under false pretenses is prohibited, but you can answer a question you posted yourself if you identify yourself when asking it. The details of the screening process for answerers haven’t been disclosed, but apparently male members must have no complaints filed against them by women. Things have been a little heated lately, so the screening may be stricter right now.
