I think questions are fine as long as they’re related to papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), regardless of how serious they are. Lately, though, I’ve noticed a lot of questions that don’t seem related in the slightest. I also have no idea what determines whether a question gets hidden（笑).

I agree with Makeotoko. I think the restrictions are too excessive. If things get lively, I don’t see why that would be a problem. Since more than half of my answers are jokes posted under a poop icon, I feel a bit out of place if the site is limited to serious questions only. Most of the regular answerers are pretty thick-skinned and capable of giving as good as they get, so I think it should be fine. That said, all the veteran answerers are angry, so there must be something I’m not understanding. Maybe it’s because I only look at the adult questions... This trend started after IP addresses began being displayed to answerers, right? By the way, I don’t think an IP address is precise enough to identify an individual, but is that really okay? People connected to the same node should have the same IP address, and even people in different municipalities can apparently share one... Taro

I don’t recall ever seeing a question hidden because it seemed too serious. Could you tell me which of the questioner’s “serious questions” you mean? I don’t think the questions currently visible are all stuffy or overly formal.

What serious concern did you ask about? I’m sure the staff member gave it some thought, so they didn’t mean any harm. Please try asking again so they can understand how serious you are.

Whether a question is serious or not, “A good question is one that gets answers.” So if a question gets answers, I think it should be displayed. Answering isn’t mandatory—if you don’t want to answer a question, you can simply ignore it. Is the company president getting too involved in day-to-day operations? Sorry if I’m mistaken. Until recently, the policy was basically not to hide questions, but then it suddenly changed. A policy reversal that quick couldn’t have happened without the president’s involvement. It seems like the president’s word carries far more weight than that of the staff on the ground. Maybe the company still has that owner-managed mindset? Though I’d say the organization is already plenty big enough. I think an anonymous question box should be half serious and half entertainment. That’s what “anonymous” is all about. They’re testing whether the conversion rate (CVR)—the rate at which people sign up as members through the anonymous question box—is higher when low-quality questions or multiple questions from the same person are hidden or when they’re displayed. If they’re deciding what to display or hide for any other reason, then I’m sorry, but I can hardly call that good business sense. It’s painfully obvious that without money, you can’t provide a good papa-katsu environment. If they’re hiding questions for reasons other than an A/B test, I can’t help but say, “That’s why you only make 200 million yen.”

I don’t think that’s the case. If you want it to be displayed as a serious question and serve as a useful reference for other members and people who are just starting to take an interest, it would be better to word it more thoughtfully.
