I hope he gets back to you! I only have a certain image of hostesses, but I feel it’s not a job just anyone can do—you probably have to be smart. You need to immediately understand what each customer wants and keep the conversation flowing, and there are probably workplace hierarchies to deal with as well. It doesn’t seem like something that can be done so easily. If you genuinely want to become a hostess, then I think you should work seriously toward that goal. But saying you’ll look for another job because your appearance makes it difficult suggests that you may not have been fully prepared or determined in the first place. Anyway, I hope you find a job soon. I’ve never really entered the working world myself, and I only know about the world I’m currently in, so I’m not really in a position to say much. Still, I’m sure there will be plenty of difficult situations ahead, so learning how to endure them—or avoid them smoothly—will be important too. I think knowing how to handle yourself well matters.
