Because of my job, I sometimes get called in unexpectedly. For example, if I repeatedly have to cancel at the last minute after arranging a first meeting with a woman, could I be forcibly removed from the service?

The fact that you can casually ask something like this makes me think you’re pretty careless as a person. Work is no legitimate excuse. Keeping your promises is the most important thing in any relationship with others. If you really can’t predict your schedule, then just go enjoy yourself at a hostess club or somewhere similar whenever it suits you. I forgot to answer your question. If you keep canceling at the last minute, you’ll be permanently banned. You’re a huge nuisance to both the women and the other male members.

Canceling at the last minute for a first meeting is not only rude to the other person, but also causes trouble for the staff. Regardless of whether you’ll be forcibly banned, it’s simply better not to cancel at the last minute—it’s the decent thing to do. If you don’t even make a restaurant reservation because you’re expecting a last-minute cancellation, that’s unpleasant too. And once you’ve started seeing each other, repeatedly canceling will likely lower your priority in her eyes. By the way, relatively young doctors (who may get called out for an emergency) and surfers (because nothing comes before the waves) are the two biggest last-minute-cancellation champions, according to my research. Take care. Marika

Questioner, How would you feel if the woman you were meeting canceled at the last minute? If you can’t coordinate schedules or keep appointments, I think it’s best not to join a dating club.

Please don’t start papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) until you have enough time and emotional bandwidth to handle it.

I believe this was explained when you joined, but we ask that you not cancel after the arrangement has been finalized. Since this is only a request, some men may take it lightly and cancel anyway. However, ultimately, they will be informed that their membership is being terminated. Of course, they will receive a warning first, so I think most will realize their mistake at that point. The staff are only human, after all, so their opinion of men who do this naturally goes down as well. In other words, they become subject to forced termination. Actually, once someone ignores this request, they can no longer be considered a “gentleman” and no longer meet the membership requirements. Under the rules, we could terminate their membership from the very first offense. Incidentally, some staff members believe that a man who cancels at the last minute should pay the woman ¥10,000 as an apology. I feel the same way. I mean, women are forcibly terminated for a first-time last-minute cancellation regardless of the reason—even if it was something serious enough to require hospitalization. So it seems extremely unfair for men to face no consequences at all.

Men are rated too, so if you repeatedly cancel at the last minute, your star rating will drop and you may be forcibly removed from the site. Are you the kind of man who can forgive a woman for repeatedly canceling at the last minute?
