Can LGBT people register? Will I still receive offers if I’m open about it?

Maezawa here. Since you’re asking whether you can register, I assume you want to register on the women’s side. I think it depends on which category of LGBT you identify with. I may be misunderstanding, since I’m not very familiar with the distinctions myself, but: For L: The question is whether you’d be okay with male partners. If being with a man is absolutely out of the question, I don’t think there would be much point in registering. If you like women but are also okay with men, there may be a possibility, although it’s impossible to say how many offers you might receive. In that case, though, you may actually fall under B below. For G: If your appearance is indistinguishable from a woman’s—or even more beautiful than many women’s—there’s a slight chance of receiving offers in Tokyo and other major cities. For B: If you’re B, I assume you’re someone who is also comfortable with men, so I don’t think there would be any particular problem. Apparently, some people register without openly stating it. I’ve even heard men say things like, “The woman I met the other day was actually…” It seems common not to mention it when registering, but to tell the man after dating and entering into an adult relationship (intimate). Of course, you can also choose to be upfront when registering so that you only receive offers from men who understand your situation. For T: In this case as well, I think there may be possibilities if you can date men without any issues. However, men generally choose based on appearance first, so you may receive offers if you look as feminine as a woman—or even more feminine. That said, there may be some possibilities in major cities such as Tokyo, but I think you should expect the chances to be lower in rural areas.
