It’s a tactless question to ask. Of course he’s an older man.
I wonder if the woman in question reads this Q&A site. As I mentioned in response to an earlier question, Fuu’s answer is exactly what I would have suggested: She knows he’s an older man, and it would be hard for her going forward if she lied. She’s managed to convey that she does think of him as an older man, but that doesn’t mean she dislikes him.
Let’s be grateful that she’s willing to be with you.
From the questioner’s perspective, what does a 63-year-old woman who’s 18 years older than you look like?

My daughter calls me “80 years old” and a “fossil.”
When she was a freshman in high school, she used to say that 18 was already middle-aged and 30 was elderly, so I suppose it’s still better than being called an old man…
She treats me like a living fossil, but we do share ice cream, ramen, and things like that almost every night, so we actually get along pretty well… Is that her way of making up for roasting me nonstop?

Of course it is (lol). You should be glad you were supported by an older guy (lol). In my case, the age gap is over 40 years—he’s a full-on grandpa.

You’re being persistent, and you really don’t know when to give up.
To people in their twenties, a man in his late thirties or older is an old guy, just as a woman in her early thirties would be.

This comes up regularly in the Q&A box, but once you’re in your 30s, you’re considered an older guy, so don’t worry about it.
In my case, I take care of my appearance so I don’t come across as an older man. Maybe the women I’m seeing are being considerate too, but I’ve dated women in their early to mid-20s and have never been treated like an old guy.
Then again, I’ve never actually asked them that question, so if I did, they might say otherwise.
But since I’m not sure what anyone would be hoping to learn by asking that, I probably wouldn’t ask in the first place.
