Maezawa here. As you said, looks are given a lot of weight. Someone attractive generally won’t be rejected even if their attitude is somewhat poor. In that case, they might simply be placed in a class one level lower. Even if their attitude is extremely bad, if they’re exceptionally attractive, they’d probably still be registered, though their profile might include a note saying they have a poor attitude. If an attractive person were to be rejected, it would probably only be if they seemed likely to cancel on the day of the date. In that case, the date wouldn’t happen in the first place, so there’d be no point in registering them. As for the kinds of people who fail the screening, the basic criterion is: People who seem unlikely to receive offers from men. Also, the points I mentioned above—“even if they’re attractive”—should generally be understood as factors that could lead to rejection.
