I’m glad to hear everything is okay. However, the information may not have reached everyone on the ground, so it might be a good idea to add a note along the lines of: “I was told by Mr. Takita that I could attend an interview, so I’m applying again.” (Takita-san holds a position overseeing eastern Japan, so he has considerable influence.) That should at least get you as far as the interview. Of course, whether you’re accepted afterward will be decided by the staff member who interviews you, so stay focused and do your best.
