For a first date, from a female member’s perspective, which would you prefer: a relatively inexpensive restaurant with a private room, or a high-end restaurant without private rooms?

This is quite the ultimate dilemma… As Marika pointed out, I think everything could be solved by choosing a fairly nice restaurant with private rooms. But since that alone wouldn’t really answer your question, I gave it some thought. There are all kinds of high-end restaurants that don’t have private rooms, so you might as well ask your companion directly whether they’d prefer a private room.

Maezawa from the CEO’s Office here. I think a private room makes it easier to talk, so I’d recommend choosing a stylish restaurant with private rooms. I’ve heard that women generally prefer a place with a nice atmosphere over an expensive restaurant, but some women who have just registered are excitedly wondering, “How fancy a place will he take me to?” So an upscale restaurant without private rooms might also be a good option. > Apparently, if you suggest a horse sashimi restaurant to a woman whose hobby is fitness, she’ll be pleased that you were so thoughtful. Speaking of horse sashimi… Apparently, people who go horseback riding don’t appreciate being taken to a horse sashimi restaurant.(笑)

Why isn’t a reasonably nice private-room restaurant an option? That would solve the problem. I don’t like counters for a first date because you have to discuss the allowance. And the same goes for French restaurants where a waiter is standing right behind you. I suppose it might be different with a B-type papa who doesn’t discuss the allowance that day. I’m a C-type and leave the allowance up to him. My thinking is that if it’s less than I expected, there won’t be a second time. So when we’re leaving the restaurant, I can usually just ask, “Would you like to spend some time together after this?” But normally, you should come to an agreement before leaving. Marika

I’m Fuu, a column writer. For me, it’d be a delicious restaurant with a private room and a nice atmosphere. It’d be embarrassing if they turned down an adult relationship, haha. I make sure to do the first date properly.

I’m Dai, a male member. If those are the only two options, I imagine women would have a hard time choosing as well. I understand that there aren’t many restaurants where you can request a private room for two, but I always try to find a private restaurant that isn’t too cheap.
