Maezawa here. It also depends on the branch, and since there aren’t any specific rules, it varies from place to place as to who handles it. Generally, whenever a woman is being moved up in rank, the staff member who met her will be consulted first. That’s because only the staff member who met her knows why she was initially assigned that rank. Even if other staff members think she should be moved up because she looks great in her photos and gets a lot of offers, they’ll usually check with the staff member who met her first. There are rare cases where she actually had a very bad attitude, personality issues, or some other reason for her current rank. Usually, they’ll ask the staff member who has met her before changing her rank. However, if she’s receiving a flood of offers, they may move her up without doing that. There are also cases where a man accidentally reveals a woman’s rank, and she asks to have it changed. In those situations, they can usually figure out which man it was even without being told his name. They end up changing her rank while thinking, “What was this guy thinking?”
