How can I sign up for the event line so I can participate in events? I’m not very photogenic, so I’d rather meet and talk in person. I’d also love to observe and learn from the other female members!

The fact that you know about the event line suggests you’ve done a fair amount of research.
Next, you could contact the branch where you’re registered and say something like, “I’d like to attend an event. What should I do?”
The branch staff will then contact the event staff, who will get in touch with you.
That’s generally how it works in Tokyo, where there are many events.
However, regional branches may not be able to hold many events at this stage, so it might simply end with them saying, “We’ll let you know if an event comes up.”
If you’re willing to travel all the way to Tokyo to attend an event, even though you live far away, it might be a good idea to mention that as well.
