I think it’s only natural to be curious.
That said, I feel like it’s more likely to be something positive than a negative.
For example, someone might say her boyfriend is handsome, and when she shows you a photo, he really is—or you might see the photo and think he’s nothing special.
You can also find out what kinds of things are popular these days, so I feel like you end up being curious about all sorts of things, not just the person you’re seeing.
After joining a dating club, you might hear that a lot of people are getting permanent hair removal for their pubic hair and think, “I guess that’s trendy now?”
One benefit of interacting with people is that you get to learn about all kinds of things.
And I think people from the Showa generation tend to enjoy that sort of thing...

That does make me curious.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a close relationship where you can be completely honest about things like that, but strangely enough, it never seems to turn out that way. Instead, we end up exchanging those golden sales pitches like, “You’re the only one.” I suppose that’s just the universal etiquette in these relationships.
