Universe doesn’t allow you to search by age range.
For example, you can’t search for women aged 19–39.
So I don’t think many people use it.

I usually browse without filtering by age. Sometimes I’ll search for 18- or 19-year-olds when I feel like spending time with someone younger, or for women in their 30s when I’m in the mood to spend time with someone in that age group. But those urges usually pass quickly, so I often don’t end up making an actual offer.
