Black-tier introductions are expensive, but do people really want to go out of their way to offer one badly enough to pay that much?

Mamaya from Universe Club here. Whenever I walk down Omotesando’s luxury-brand shopping street, I wonder who buys these things. But even without wealthy Chinese shoppers, the area was still crowded. At first glance, women in the BLACK class may not seem all that extraordinary. But, like luxury brands, perhaps they have an appeal that only those who appreciate it can recognize. Some people, like Don Juan, view money—whether it’s one yen, 10,000 yen, or 100 million yen—as nothing more than scraps of paper when they want something. Since value is relative, I imagine many of the people seeking BLACK women are drawn to qualities that the person asking the question simply doesn’t recognize. If the price were within your reach, would you make an offer?

Maezawa from the CEO’s office here. If no one were making offers to Black Class members in the first place, then Black Class wouldn’t have any meaning. You might think there aren’t any male Black members either, but in reality, there are. I suppose it may look that way to someone with relatively low income—or assets, for that matter—but there are people whose everyday watches cost tens of millions of yen, or whose car looks like an ordinary Mercedes until you realize it’s a limited-edition AMG. I think it’s important to understand that worlds like that exist. In that sense, female members may actually be more likely than male members to know about that world. However, whether they can actually receive offers from men like that is another matter, so it’s quite complicated.

I’m Kazu, a male member. That’s a silly question. Don’t you think there’s a Black tier and a setting fee because there are men willing to make offers? Besides, I doubt most men really care whether the setting fee is ¥50,000 or ¥100,000. Since the staff put in the same amount of effort, I feel a little bad when the setting fee is only ¥20,000 or ¥30,000. I feel especially sorry when that’s the fee for a woman they found for me after I made an inquiry. Incidentally, there are also women whose Premier setting fee is higher than the standard setting fee for Black-tier women.
