For women living in Gunma, Nagano, or Yamanashi, which branch would they register with?

Maezawa from the president’s office here as well. Thank you for your question. Women from Gunma are handled by the Omiya branch, while women from Nagano and Yamanashi are handled by Nagoya. When I was based in Omiya, I also interviewed women from Nagano. (Apparently, Omiya was the easiest place for them to get to since they came by bullet train.) Women can interview at any branch, and the concept of registering with a specific branch no longer exists. Men may want to register at the branch whose staff directly interview women from their area, but the staff member who conducted the interview may have left or be taking time off, so I don’t think it makes much difference. As for how many women there are, you should generally assume that registration numbers are low in prefectures without a branch.
