I don’t think he’ll necessarily lose interest, but the phrase “because there are various reasons this time” concerns me, so I feel it would be better to explain those reasons in more detail. A lot of men might wonder why the terms are different from before.
That said, if the reason is that someone else had unprotected sex with you and you want him to use a condom until your next period so you can identify the father in case you become pregnant, I can see how that would be difficult to explain.
But if you simply say that you forgot to take your birth-control pill, I don’t think it would be especially difficult to explain.
A man who’s good at reading between the lines might figure it out anyway, but it really depends on the person.
