Why was the Okinawa branch closed? I would have thought there would be demand from people visiting on business trips—or rather, vacations—and meeting women there while they were in town. Was that not really the case? Was it impossible to keep the branch running on outside demand alone?

Maezawa from the CEO’s office here. > I got the impression there might be demand from people visiting Okinawa on business trips (which are really vacations), and meeting women while they were there. Was that not actually the case? First of all, how many times did you, the questioner, offer to meet women in Okinawa and visit there on a “business trip” (which was really a vacation)? I could understand if you had made offers more than ten times and been going to Okinawa almost every month, only to be disappointed when that option disappeared. But if you never actually used it, I don’t understand what the point was of posting this here. After all, when making offers to women, many men specifically look for someone who lives in a place that’s easy to visit again later. So, frankly, I have to say your story is completely far-fetched.

I’m Gaku, a male member. I think there was fairly strong demand from men wanting to go on dates in Okinawa, but there were fewer than 100 women registered with the Okinawa branch. On top of that, very few of them were women the men actually wanted to make offers to, so sales struggled to grow. Then the number of men coming to Okinawa dropped sharply because of COVID. Isn’t that probably how things played out?
