You seem to place a lot of importance on annual income and the type of credit card someone has, but foolish business owners brag about ridiculously high incomes. For example, do you know how much a company president earning tens of millions of yen a year pays in social insurance premiums, income tax, and resident tax?
It feels like they’re doing nothing more than lining the pockets of the tax office and the government.
I’m the type of business owner who keeps my salary as low as possible and covers expenses through the company.

If the president owns the company, they may prioritize investing in business expansion rather than increasing their own compensation. On the other hand, an employed president might seek compensation tied to their individual performance.

I don’t want to pay more taxes than necessary either, so I keep my executive compensation around its current level. However, when you say you cover expenses through the company, do you mean you’re treating personal spending as a corporate expense? I don’t do that. They’re the rules of society, so I believe personal expenses should be paid from personal income.
I think the business owner you called “stupid” is actually a respectable person who follows the rules.
