How do you all find monthly papas?? I only have low-paying papas who offer 50,000 yen per meeting.

This is columnist Fuu. I imagine there are very few women who would agree to a monthly arrangement for 50,000 yen or more per meeting. Since even 30,000 yen per meeting is pretty common on apps and websites—not just through dating clubs—50,000 yen per meeting could actually be considered a good offer. It seems easier to find a papa-katsu arrangement bringing in around 150,000 yen from three papas at 50,000 yen per meeting, while still maintaining a balance with work or school. Sorry, that’s just Fuu’s personal speculation. What do you think? If money is all that matters, I won’t argue with that, but compared with a monthly arrangement where you might have: - A place provided for you, leaving you practically confined - No boyfriend or other papas allowed - Various demands placed on you having the freedom of a pay-per-meeting arrangement seems better to me...

I’m Aya, a female member. The papas I’ve stayed with for a long time have almost always been on a monthly arrangement. I’m not entirely sure myself, but maybe what works is that I don’t make the relationship feel too transactional, and I’m open about myself with the papas I genuinely like. I do feel like I somehow bring out their protective instincts, but I’ve never said anything like, “You feel sorry for me, right?” Maybe they simply sense, from the way I go about my daily life, that I’m awkwardly trying to get by.

Women who are dating a generous papa (a male supporter) who pays over ¥500,000 a month are a small minority even among women involved in papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan). So if you have to ask others how to find one, it will probably be difficult. In any field, the people who think for themselves and take the initiative as pioneers are the ones who benefit the most. For example, the woman who first created an information-sharing group about papa-katsu is the one profiting the most from it. The women who participate in the group only receive a modest share of the benefits. That said, plenty of women can only find papa supporters on apps who pay an allowance of ¥30,000 per meeting, so you may already have found a better papa than they have. It may be “just” papa-katsu, but I think it’s a world where there’s no end to how high you can aim.

Apparently, even the papa offering 70,000 yen a month is always told, “I usually get 50,000, but you’re worth 70,000” (with a smug look). What women often say—that the odds of finding a favorite papa (a male supporter) are one in twenty—doesn’t seem entirely wrong. That said, women have their share of the problem too. Whether it’s a papa paying 50,000, 70,000, or 100,000 yen a month, their effort in bed is “the same,” right? I’ve made offers to countless women, but only three of them really put in the effort. I’ve continued seeing those three from the early days right up to now.
