Papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) is fundamentally about keeping three things in balance.
A papa’s job is to:
1. Give the woman as generous (well-paying) an allowance as possible and make her happy
2. Make lots of offers so the club can make money
3. Report what happens after free-form dating to the club, so they can understand the reality of papa-katsu
4. Enjoy himself
