Maybe it’s because he wants you to think, “Even though he’s seeing multiple women, he only wants a one-on-one relationship with me,” or “He’s devoted to me,” and doesn’t want you to see him as a bad guy.
I think it’s simply that men are worse at lying and tend to be more naïve, so they get found out more often.
Just think it’s cute and keep him wrapped around your finger. Sometimes, if you make a bold move skillfully, like Aya does, he might increase your allowance or start treating you as someone truly special—but I think an amateur will fail if she tries to imitate that too easily.
I wouldn’t do it either.
