I’d like to ask everyone: Do you have any dreams or goals for the future?
I’m in my 40s, and I’ve already achieved everything I wanted—things I wanted to buy, things I wanted to do, and dreams I had.
Right now, I feel completely burned out. I have money, but no dreams or hope, and my life feels boring.
I’d really appreciate any advice you can offer, even if it’s harsh.

Like you, I haven’t accomplished anything particularly great, yet I’ve entered my fifties having spent my life rather pointlessly. I haven’t succeeded, but I haven’t really known failure either. Since money kept coming in automatically, I couldn’t bring myself to quit working.
This spring, I finally made up my mind, let go of my company, and started a new business. For the first time in a long while, I’m enjoying that thrilling sense of excitement. An even bigger change was moving my home about 500 kilometers east. So far, I’m enjoying life without getting bored—though, to be fair, it’s only been six months.
If I may be so bold, I’d like to share my mentor’s words with you:
A man’s life is meant to be lived adventurously.

I’m a little similar—I can’t bring myself to work hard just for my own sake anymore. That’s why I joined Universe Club.
You have more money than you know what to do with, right?
In that case, helping the female members of Universe Club achieve their dreams can be the greatest happiness—and the ultimate luxury. Give them an allowance above the going rate. That’s what I do.
I don’t continue seeing women who don’t have dreams.
There’s nothing more enjoyable than supporting the life of a woman whose eyes light up as she says, “I’m working hard every day to achieve [something]!” ♪

I’m in my 40s too, but of course I still have plenty of dreams and goals for the future.
On the other hand, if you’ve already achieved everything you wanted to by your 40s, you must be a man with very few desires.
There’s also been talk of setting the mandatory retirement age at 45, so why not take on an entirely different line of work now?
I think most men who join a dating club are naturally quite ambitious.
Not that I’m comparing you to Don Juan of Kishu, but wanting to have lots of women around you is pretty ambitious too, haha.

You seem to think you’ve achieved fulfillment in your forties, but I honestly have no idea what you’ve done that’s so amazing.
Nothing has reached my ears at all. Did you accomplish something ordinary people aren’t supposed to know about? Is this just some wonderful bit of self-satisfying masturbation? Are you really satisfied with a life that amounts to masturbation?
That’s not what being alive is about. Human beings are driven by endless desire. Those whose desires run out are the ones who die. I don’t think age has anything to do with it.
You should take an objective look at your pathetic self, getting excited and posting on some backwater message board like this. You’re still a mass of desire.
I think facing your desires head-on is what it means to live properly.

The dreams I want to make a reality soon are getting divorced and supporting my child’s dreams.
Since I don’t know the questioner’s gender, it’s hard to say, but if you’re in your 40s, why not try stretching and strength training so your body doesn’t become any less attractive?
Building muscle takes time, and maintaining it is difficult too. Nutrition for muscle growth is also a deep subject.

I’m in my 40s too, but I still don’t have enough money or dreams to stop challenging myself, so I’m honestly envious!
There’s a theory that people who live by the motto “Make this dull world interesting” are actually not very interesting themselves, lol. But for the most part, that’s how I’d like to live too.
We’re in the post-COVID era now, but Japan is in a pretty serious state, so doesn’t that actually make things exciting in its own way?
Even in papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), it’s fascinating how differently things can turn out for different people, lol. Japan is a strange country, but I can’t think of a more interesting situation.
Deciding to call it quits after achieving everything is certainly one option. But someone with that kind of ability should be able to find something interesting again pretty quickly, don’t you think? Personally, I find it easier when there’s less competition, so I’d be grateful if the more capable people kept moving on, lol.

Yes, I do. I have a bucket list, and there are still plenty of things I haven’t been able to make happen.
I’ve managed to accomplish some of the things on that list by joining Universe Club and taking part in its activities.
