How about a “consultation” event like this? Couldn’t we create an arrangement that benefits the woman, the man, and the club alike?

I’m in charge of events. Aizawa is late to the discussion as well, but here’s my response. Having a line of men waiting to meet one woman sounds amusing in a way—it would look a bit like an idol meet-and-greet—but it seems difficult to create any real benefit for the men. I considered various ideas, such as charging ¥20,000 to participate and ¥30,000 if they wanted a date while keeping the setup fee the same, or arranging women who aren’t normally listed on the site. But then I started wondering: how many men would actually feel it was worthwhile to compete head-on with other men? And if it were a party-style event, they could meet more than ten women for ¥20,000–¥30,000, so how many would pay ¥20,000 just to meet one woman for 15 minutes? I keep going around in circles asking myself these questions. So what if we did the opposite instead? One man meeting several women—a private, one-man version of LSE. Of course, the price would probably be around ten times ¥20,000 rather than ¥20,000 itself… Still, I feel the women’s interest in participating might be quite high if they were hoping to meet a VIP man. But in that case, attending LSE would be cheaper and offer better value. That said, since this would be a format we’ve never tried before, I’m going to put my limited brainpower to work and see if we can develop it into some kind of fun new企画. Please keep sending us lots of ideas!

This is Saito♪, a column writer. Thanks for bringing up such an interesting topic. I’m currently an active male member. With the current setup, multiple men compete for one woman. But if she turns out not to be a good match, it seems like a lot of men would end up wasting their time. Wouldn’t LSE be a better option? Even if that woman isn’t a good fit, you can still speak one-on-one with other women, and there’s still competition among the men. At LSE, you could potentially meet 10 women for around ¥70,000, so you could keep the cost lower than the amount you mentioned. The club would probably make a higher profit as well, and since women would be choosing from multiple men, I think their chances would improve too. (I once took part in an event where women could directly choose the men they wanted to meet. It brings back memories.)

Maezawa here. It does sound interesting, but normally the offer would be ¥50,000—yet through this site, the total would be ¥70,000 including the setting fee? The man’s benefit is that he can meet her in person, so there’s no risk of finding out after meeting that she isn’t what he expected. As for the woman’s benefit… I’m not really sure where that lies. If it simply means she gets to talk with the man before the date, but is expected to be tied up for five hours for free, then it seems a little off. Still, if a benefit for women could be added as well, it might be an interesting idea. That said, it would be difficult under the current system, so I take this as a suggestion to try it as an event. I imagine the people in charge of events are reading this too, but I’ll mention it to them just in case. (I’m not sure whether they’ll respond here, though.) By the way, the system you’re proposing does seem to have some similarities to the system planned for the new location…
