I’m Saito, the column writer ♪ I’m also registered with a local branch. Let’s do our best together! And let’s hope Universe adds more branches!

Maezawa here. As a rule, you’ll need to come to the branch for your interview. It may be a bit of a hassle, but we’d really appreciate it if you could make the trip. Since our branches are generally located in relatively populated areas, actual dates also tend to take place in the ward or city where the branch is located, or in Tokyo or Osaka. That means you’ll often need to travel to the meeting location even after registering. If the branch is too far away for you to visit, it may also be difficult to arrange actual dates. That said, some branches apparently have other densely populated areas within their service region. Taking into account situations where dates might be possible there despite the branch being far away, I’ve heard that video-call interviews may be available depending on where you live. This is a very special exception and only applies to people in a small number of eligible areas, so it won’t be possible for most locations. However, your area may happen to qualify, so please contact us just in case.
