When there are two men, I imagine there are a few different arrangements. I’m probably in the minority, but I don’t join in—I just sit off to the side drinking beer and watching, haha. Depending on the situation, my favorite option is to leave my phone on, step out to the hotel bar, have an Irish whiskey, and listen in through my earphones. The downside is that the alcohol hits me pretty quickly.
Incidentally, the largest group I’ve heard of was five people. Of course, I wasn’t participating.

As for the second guy, there are a lot of sketchy love hotels, so it’s better to use a regular hotel—or, if you trust each other, his place.
