I’m considering signing up as a member. Will the profile photo I submit later be fully visible to male members? I’m interested as long as the risk of being recognized isn’t too high.

I’m Saito, a columnist♪ I’m currently an active member, and since it’s the largest dating club, there were two women out of 8,000 whose faces male members recognized and thought, “Wait, is that her?” If you’re worried, you can always use a mosaic blur, so please don’t worry. Things may be changing slowly, but dating clubs are becoming more casual. Maybe I’ve just become desensitized, but quite a few celebrities show their faces too, so honestly, I don’t think much of it. That said, not every male member feels the same way, so it’s always better to be cautious.

Maezawa here. Rather than submitting a photo later, we take one during the interview. The photo is posted on a members-only page, so only members can view it—but it is displayed clearly, without blurring. Since only members can see it, I think the chances of someone recognizing you are relatively low. That said, there is always a possibility that someone you know may be among the members, creating a risk that your identity could be exposed. This is especially something to consider if you know wealthy people. Normally, even if a male member recognized you, you would both be registered members, so it should be mutual. However, things may not always work out that way, so you should carefully consider whether you can accept that risk. On the other hand, there is also the benefit of meeting wealthy people, so it ultimately comes down to which you value more. It is also possible to register with your photo blurred. However, some men will not make an offer if they cannot see your face, so the number of offers will drop considerably. I would not really recommend it, but registering that way is possible.
