I’m getting my second vaccine dose this week. It may not be very effective at preventing infection, but there seems to be plenty of evidence that it helps prevent severe illness, so I figure there’s no harm in getting it.

To be honest, I was originally in the “I don’t want to get vaccinated” camp. But after seeing the rates of severe illness and death decline once vaccinations began, I felt I had no choice but to get it.
All I’ll say is that it’s been more than two weeks since my second dose.
Some insensitive people say things like, “Not getting vaccinated is unthinkable,” but even if the odds are low, everyone is afraid of side effects. Besides, it’s still unclear whether the vaccine really offers long-term protection. Israel is one of the most advanced countries when it comes to vaccination, yet its death rate has been rising.
Unlike other vaccines, this one involves a strong element of gambling, but right now, humanity has no choice but to rely on it.
There are more and more unvaccinated people around me who’ve been infected, and from what I hear, recovering at home with mild symptoms can still be extremely difficult.
I think taking the risk is reasonable, so if you don’t have any additional concerns such as underlying health conditions, I recommend getting vaccinated.

Whether or not to get vaccinated is entirely up to you, but considering the risk of becoming seriously ill with COVID-19, I think it’s better to get vaccinated so you won’t regret it later.
I’ve had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine. I didn’t develop a fever—my arm was just a little sore that night.
Even if a vial were contaminated with a foreign substance, anything visible would be too large to pass through the needle, so it likely wouldn’t enter your body. Metal fragments and rubber wouldn’t dissolve, either, so I don’t think there’s anything to worry about.

The media is quick to report deaths and adverse reactions following vaccination, while cases with no problems at all are mostly ignored. Honestly, I sometimes feel they’re making too much of it, but lately they’ve also been doing a better job of covering the risks of not getting vaccinated.
At the same time, social media is flooded with anti-vaccine information.
The vaccines were developed and approved quickly in order to ease the crisis we’re facing, even if only slightly. Because of that, no one can claim they’re 100% safe and risk-free.
I’m sorry to those who can’t get vaccinated for various reasons, but I do think it’s fair to say that the risk of not getting vaccinated is higher than the risk of getting vaccinated.
For your own sake, and for the sake of the people you care about, I hope you’ll make a choice you won’t regret.

There’s no point worrying about foreign materials getting mixed in, since there’s nothing I can do about it myself.
If we worried about every possibility, we wouldn’t even be able to undergo surgery for a life-threatening illness.
