I’m Dai, a male member. Both men and women are required to submit identification, right? So I’m pretty sure there can’t be any women under 18. Other than that, I don’t really care if someone lies about their age by a few years, as long as it’s not enough to raise any suspicion.

I’m Flag Maker, a column writer. The women’s ages are genuine. One woman in the entertainment industry actually had a higher club age than her entertainment-industry age.

It’s Me here. You may come across women who claim to be “university students” even though they don’t actually attend university, but I don’t think anyone under 18 is registered. Operating legally as a dating club requires compliance with all relevant laws. Universe is reassuring because the representative appears publicly, the company is transparent with its information, and the several employees I’ve met are both capable at their jobs and trustworthy as people. Even if there may be some fake information in female members’ profiles, I trust that their ages are accurate.

I’m Maezawa from the president’s office, and I’ll answer this as well. Men’s ages don’t have to match their IDs. Since they usually only enter something like “in their 40s,” and the system doesn’t automatically update their age after registration, it’s fairly approximate. That said, we refuse requests like someone in their 60s asking to be listed as being in their 40s—that’s stretching it too far. Incidentally, both a 49-year-old and a 40-year-old are listed as being in their 40s, so someone can technically shave off up to nine years. (笑) Also, someone who registered at 49 will still be listed as being in their 40s five years later, meaning they could be 54 and still appear in their 40s. In that case, if they say it’s okay to change their listing to their 50s, we’ll update it. The information written in men’s profiles is entered by the men themselves, so we have to rely on their honesty. That said, anyone who lies in their profile will probably lie constantly when you meet them too, so I don’t think they should be trusted very much. Normally, people who don’t want to reveal their identity simply leave those fields blank rather than entering false information. As for women, staff enter the date of birth verified from their ID into the system, so their age is displayed automatically and updates properly when their birthday comes around. Of course, if you pay close attention, you may be able to figure out their birthday, but that hasn’t really become much of a topic. I sometimes worry about people who seem to have a birthday about four times a year, though. Maybe men who have actually gone on dates with them have asked for their profiles to be hidden? > Whether there are any errors in the initial settings to begin with I don’t think there are, but input errors do happen. I vaguely remember there once being a woman who was over 100 years old. (笑) That was, of course, an input error. Naturally, no one under 18 or otherwise in violation of the law is registered, so I think you can rest assured about that. Still, it’s probably best to understand that nothing in this world is absolutely 100% foolproof.

To be precise, the club—either Maezawa-san or a staff member—will probably answer this as well, but I assume you also submitted identification when you interviewed with the club. The women submit identification too, and I believe their ages are verified based on that. In theory, someone could lie about their age by forging an ID, but I don’t think joining the club would be worth going that far, so I imagine age misrepresentation is relatively uncommon. The age shown on the profile appears to increase automatically in the system as the years go by.

I’m Kazu, a male member. Unlike educational or employment history, age is presumably verified using official identification. If any misrepresentation of age were tolerated, I imagine it would only be for someone involved in talent or entertainment activities. Also, I hear that ages are updated automatically, so it seems unlikely that someone’s profile simply hasn’t been updated.
