I met a man through papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), and we’ve become like friends. I’m in my late 20s, and we used to see each other in an adult relationship (intimate) a few years ago, but after various things happened, we became more like friends. We occasionally go for drives or meals, but there’s no adult relationship (intimate) and I don’t receive any allowance either. His 50th birthday is coming up, and I’m wondering what to give him as a present. Everyone has different tastes, but what kind of gift would a man in his 50s generally be happy to receive from a younger woman?

It’s me. What makes me happiest is being able to feel that someone really thought about what might make me happy... Even if the gift itself isn’t something I wanted—or is something I wouldn’t know what to do with—the thought behind it means the most to me♪ ( ´▽`)

I’m in Seattle. The “no-money” series seems to be trending lately. When it comes to gifts from women, I prefer things that don’t cost money—like massages, using your body or words, or certain situations. I don’t need material gifts.

I’m Paper Airplane, a male member. For me, it’s fine if it’s something I actually need or something I’m due to replace. Belts, keychains, wallets, bags, money clips, scarves, and so on are all things I can say I bought myself or received from a friend. The girls often pay close attention and give me things at just the right time, like when it’s about time for a replacement. What I find difficult are things I wouldn’t buy myself because I have no sense of style, items I don’t really need or aren’t due to replace, and clothes like T-shirts or polo shirts.

I’m Column Writer Flag Maker. When I saw the opening, I got nervous thinking it was a complaint about me. But I’m in my 30s, so that’s not me. For me, experiences that stay in your memory matter more than things. I’ve also ended up becoming friends with quite a few women without any allowance or adult relationship. I enjoy those occasional special moments of affection: kissing at Christmas (possibly because they were being a little forceful), being kissed as she wrapped the scarf I’d lent her around my neck when I went to get it back in winter, having her casually hold my hand in places full of couples and married people, and sometimes getting a men’s-esthetic-style massage. Those moments stay with me.
