When offers come flooding in, the staff will usually check in with the woman first, saying something like, “Are you managing okay?” If it seems she doesn’t have the capacity to accept any more offers, they’ll tell her, “We’ll make your profile private for now,” and do so.
However, there have also been cases where staff made a profile private without telling the woman.
I’ve thought, “Who do these staff members think they are?” but they seemed to genuinely believe it was the best thing to do. I don’t recall there being any particular manual for handling situations like this, so if a supervisor doesn’t notice, it may simply remain that way.
There are also cases where the supervisor personally believes that’s the better option, so it’s hard to say.
Women have no way of knowing whether their profile has been made private. If there’s a man they’ve met before and are friendly with, they could ask something like, “Even when I post selfies, I don’t get any likes. Is it possible my profile has been hidden?”
If they ask the staff directly, I don’t think they would outright lie, so they should at least be able to tell you whether your profile is visible.
That said, a staff member who hides profiles without permission might lie about it too.

If your profile is going to be made private, wouldn’t the staff contact you via LINE? I don’t think they’d just do that without telling you. What do you think, staff?
