I’m Flagmaker, a column writer.
The woman I’m dating discovered fashion, beauty, and cosmetic procedures, and moved up a rank after having new photos taken. She became so beautiful that she looked like a completely different person and had really polished her appearance. But because her originally unpolished yet endearing personality remained unchanged, the contrast between her sophisticated looks and down-to-earth inner self stood out even more, and I think she became an even more wonderful woman.
There’s another woman who also became more polished and beautiful, but once she gets comfortable, her rustic Tohoku accent comes out. I find that charming too.
I think it’s precisely because there’s something that remains unchanged while a person’s appearance continues to improve that I find her so wonderful.
