I’m lonely. How do you all spend your time when you’re feeling lonely? Is it possible to meet someone here whom I can honestly tell that I’m lonely? Sorry for being so emotionally needy.

Maezawa from the CEO’s office here. If you date a lot of men, you’ll probably always have someone replying to your LINE messages when you feel lonely. You might even be so busy responding that you won’t have time to feel lonely. Of course, you’ll also have more dates, so you may find yourself feeling less lonely. I don’t think the point is simply to talk about feeling lonely, so it might be a good idea to start by seeing what it’s like to date different kinds of people.

Ayase Nana ♡ I’m basically a lonely person, so when I feel lonely, I sing—TWICE, “Jupiter,” and lately, “Usseewa!” too. Try finding something you can really focus on.

I’m Aya, a female member. Maybe you feel that way because you have too much free time. If you’re putting your all into work or studying, you probably won’t have time to say you’re lonely. Getting a part-time job to fill your free time might be a good idea, too. You’re essentially selling your time and turning it into money, so you can enjoy the almost alchemical pleasure of making something out of nothing. Of course, having free time isn’t inherently bad. But life is more or less one grand exercise in passing the time, so try focusing on how you can make the most of yours. You won’t have time left to feel lonely.

I’m so busy that I don’t even have time to feel lonely. So it’s a good idea to find something to keep yourself occupied. People tend to think about all kinds of unhelpful things when they have too much free time. —Marika

I’m Kazu, a male member. I don’t feel lonely anymore, but I did when I was younger. When I felt that way, I sometimes tried to fill the emptiness by spending time with my girlfriend or meeting other people. But even when you’re with someone, I don’t think it really solves your loneliness. In my case, I eventually realized that I was the only one who could fill that loneliness. I think it’s a good idea to find something you can enjoy on your own—something you can really get absorbed in. Even when you feel lonely, you can forget about it while enjoying your solo hobby. And as you gradually come to understand that, in the end, everyone is fundamentally alone, I think you stop feeling lonely.
