There are several women who exchanged LINE with me at the first meeting, but even after I sent them a few messages afterward, they never showed as read for one or two months. Recently, though, all of those messages suddenly showed as read at once. Could it be that the club sent female members some kind of notice?

You mentioned that your message was suddenly marked as read. Since offers have decreased because of COVID, she may be hoping to receive another offer from someone she had some kind of arrangement with before.
Try sending something like, “I’m doing well. I’d love to see you again.” If she ignores you again, please block and delete her.

If the questioner happens to be offline at the moment the read receipt is sent, the other person may have already read the message, but the “read” status may not appear.
I’m not entirely sure how LINE handles sending read receipts, but when a new read receipt is sent later—such as when another message is marked as read—the status of messages that hadn’t been marked as read may be updated too.
I think that’s probably what happened this time.
If you assume you’re being left on unread just because the read status hasn’t appeared, there may be times when the other person actually hasn’t done anything of the sort, so it’s best to be careful.
It’s probably better to take an unread message at face value and give yourself a little more breathing room.
LINE’s read receipts have many advantages, but they can also lead to misunderstandings, which makes them tricky.
