Are women registered as Type A really that confident in their looks? I wonder if men who go out of their way to spend money registering with Universe Club and paying the introduction fee to have dinner with a Type A woman are either quite old or simply exceptionally open-minded. Personally, if I were going to meet a Type A woman, I’d rather treat a woman from my workplace to dinner. It would be more enjoyable, and I could at least look forward to the possibility that something might happen. I also wonder whether Type A was deliberately created by Universe Club to avoid legal trouble. That’s why I find it amusing when women who are Type A complain that being invited into an adult relationship (intimate) is annoying.

I’m Tetsu, a male member. You’re overthinking it. An A-type woman simply wants dinner only (no intimacy)—nothing more, nothing less. Male members who are okay with that make her an offer.

I’m Maezawa from the President’s Office, and I’ll answer as well. Are you someone who can’t search for information or look things up? A few years ago, when papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) first started becoming popular, a TV station introduced it for the first time. At that time, they arbitrarily defined papa-katsu as “getting paid just for having a meal.” So if you want to complain, you should complain to that TV station—not the women. Why not protest as strongly as you can? Please stop berating women without knowing that background. Women are also victims of that TV station, after all. To begin with, didn’t you register with a dating club despite not having the financial means? Put another way, if it were me, I’d rather have dinner with a man from work than meet a man who lectures women, haggles over their allowance, or complains that their requested allowance is too high. It would be more enjoyable, and there’d even be the excitement of wondering, “What if…?” It makes me wonder whether Universe Club deliberately sets things up that way so they can profit from the introduction fees, since men like that could never maintain an ongoing relationship with a woman. And yet, it’s honestly laughable that there are men who lecture women, haggle over their allowance, and complain that their requested allowance is too high. That’s probably how it comes across. But I don’t think there’s any need to look down on the other person so much. If you think of it as a place where all kinds of people can register and have a good time, it seems better to approach others with an open mind, even if only in spirit. Both men and women have things they want to say, but I think we also need the willingness to accept and tolerate one another.

I’m Kazu, a male member. I can easily understand why someone who isn’t particularly confident about their looks might feel that dating clubs are intimidating and want to start by registering as Type A. Personally, I wouldn’t want someone from my workplace. I think it would be more interesting to talk to someone I don’t normally interact with. I definitely wouldn’t want anything unexpected happening at work. Since Type A members register specifically wanting dinner only (no intimacy), I think it’s perfectly natural for them to find invitations to an adult relationship (intimate) annoying.

I’m a male member who goes by Paper Airplane. I’m sure there are women who are very confident in themselves. There are probably women who are on a whole different level, too. It may not be just their looks—they might have something that keeps you captivated, completely under their spell.
