For those who care about a woman’s class: if you could choose your own class, which would you pick—being in the Black class and receiving no offers at all, or being in the Standard class and receiving lots of offers? The staff member who interviews you decides your class because they think you’re likely to receive offers at that level, right? Even so, I honestly don’t understand why someone would still want to move up to a higher class.

I’m Aya, a female member. I have no complaints at all about my class. I’ve never felt looked down on, and I’ve been able to enjoy a fulfilling experience. I think that if you’re satisfied with your activities, you won’t have any complaints about the class you belong to. In other words, maybe that just shows how many female members are dissatisfied with papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan)…

There’s also a possibility that she thinks offers only come from Standard men. In that case, she might imagine that Black members earn at least tens of millions of yen a year, live lavishly, and could introduce her to a world she knows nothing about. She may want to experience that kind of world even more than the money itself. So she might feel that she doesn’t want to meet anyone if that kind of opportunity isn’t available. In reality, it can be difficult with Standard, but Gold and above can also be viewed by Black members, so it shouldn’t be a problem… The other factor is probably pride. Wanting to be rated highly when people are evaluating you seems like a perfectly normal feeling. If the club arbitrarily assigned you to the Standard class because “you don’t seem to have much money,” wouldn’t that bother you? You might think you were Black, only to find out you were actually Standard. Naturally, you wouldn’t know that you could only view Standard women. A system like that would be easy enough to create if they wanted to. There might not even be any difference in membership fees between the classes, and the club might say, “We don’t tell men what class they’re in.” Then, if women occasionally told you, “You’re Standard,” it could come as quite a shock. Wouldn’t a system like that bother you? Since men are the ones paying, they’d probably get angry and quit if a club operated that way, so the club likely wouldn’t remain viable.

It bothers me because someone else is making the decision for me. If I were deciding for myself, of course I’d rather get offers. Marika

I’m Flag Maker, a columnist. I’d say all the male respondents here have good manners. And the person who asked the question probably does too. That said, the fact remains that there are older guys who lowball Gold women, saying things like, “Well, you’re Gold.” I get the impression that some female members feel they can be more assertive as Platinum, while Gold members are more likely to get lowballed. That’s why I want to move up to Platinum—and eventually Black. I want an objective reason that gives me more leverage.

I’m Kamihikoki, a male member. Judging by the number of offers, I’d say so. Men would also be curious whether they’d been selected for the higher rank—if it’s divided into ranks rather than classes, that is… Although, if you’re in the top rank, you wouldn’t need to pay to meet women…
