How many people switch from A to B because they didn’t get any offers? Would men see it negatively, like, “She didn’t get any offers on A… I can see why she wouldn’t work on A…”?

As a member of the staff, Maki would also like to respond. We do see a fair number of women switch from Type A to Type B. However, the two types are extremely different. If you’re truly prepared for that, then switching is fine—but if you’re only considering it because you want to receive more offers, please don’t change your type. You’re the one who may end up having an unpleasant experience.

Maezawa from the President’s Office here. I think there are quite a few women who change their profile from A to B. However, from a man’s perspective, it can look like she only changed it because she wasn’t getting any offers and wanted to attract some. Since B means dinner only on the first date, he may wonder whether she’s planning to just have dinner and end things there. In other words… she’s still basically A. I think that’s how it often comes across. Of course, there are various factors, so you can’t make a blanket statement. But if she was someone’s type and he didn’t make an offer only because she was A, he may give her the benefit of the doubt, assume she has genuinely become B, and send an offer. On the other hand, if a man was searching for women listed as B or above and was about to make an offer, then notices something like “Changed from A to B,” it can seem suspicious, and he may be more likely to withdraw the offer. So if you’ve changed from A to B, I think it’s important to use the comments section to make it clear that you really mean it—for example: “I’ve genuinely changed my mindset and selected B because I’m now open to an adult relationship (intimate). However, since I’m listed as B, please let me decide by the second meeting whether I’m ready for that.” You probably need to show that you really are B now. If you selected B from the beginning, I don’t think you necessarily need to reach a conclusion by the second meeting. But if you changed from A, it seems things may be difficult unless you show your genuine willingness.

Universe Club Customer Success representative Karasaki here. It’s not unusual for someone to switch from Type A to Type B because they didn’t receive any offers. Rather than simply thinking, “Oh, she didn’t get any offers…,” what men are most concerned about is whether she’s genuinely prepared for an adult relationship (intimate) under Type B. The worst-case scenario is changing the listing to Type B just because there were no offers, while having no intention of pursuing an adult relationship. So changing it is not a problem in itself, but please be sure you’re fully prepared before making the change.

I’m a male member, “Paper Airplane.” I make offers regardless of type, so I do look at Type A profiles too—but I’ve never offered to someone who changed from A to B. I often see people change their type. Some even change it and send me a “You’re wonderful,” but I have no idea which ones are telling the truth, so I’m too nervous to make an offer. For now, I feel like those who initially choose B or C receive overwhelmingly more offers.

I’m Kazu, a male member. You rarely see them. I get the impression that women listed as Type A tend to disappear after about six months. If someone changes from A to B without explaining why, it leaves a bad impression. I can’t help thinking, “Maybe she’s really a Type A, but since she hasn’t received any offers, she changed to B just to attract some offers for the time being.”
